We could characterize the spirituality of the Artists‘ Camp in Vörösberény brought about in the 1950s as that of reception. Artists of those days painted in the open air, walked the forests, the shores of Lake Balaton and they were given food and shelter by local families in the evenings.
The present-day creative artistic life has been built on this very spirituality providing home for prestigious national and international exhibitions. The best known of them all is the national Balaton Exhibition (Biennale) looking back on 22 years, which has become the countrywide cavalcade of contemporary creative artists. This is how Balatonalmádi could become the hub of the artistic life of the region, where nearly fifty artists live, relax and create.
