Practising Catholic people had to attend masses at Vörösberény until the chapel consecrated to Saint Margaret was completed in 1885. Due to the growth of the population it was timely to erect a larger Catholic Church. Based on the plans by István Medgyasszay the parish had Saint Emery Church built in five months by 1930. We can find the bone relic of bishop Saint Gerard on the right hand side of the high altar.
